A Christmas Devotional
About Christ's gift of power to reach out in faith:
John 15:12 My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. (NIV)
All of us have reasons why we may not want to reach out to others. Others may have hurt us, abused us, embarrassed us, or done all kinds of things to us making us want to keep to ourselves. Yet, God's will is we should not keep to ourselves. Christ came into the world so you would have the power to reach out to others no matter what your past may have been. Christ came into the world so you would give His love away rather than keeping His love to yourself. Christ was born so you would also reach out to Him in faith and trust. We can reach out to Christ knowing He hears us. We can reach out to others even if we have been hurt by them because we have Christ's armor of love to protect us. You have a listening God who not only listens but acts to help you. Christ came into the world so you would reach out to your listening and active God. Christ came into the world so you would reach up above the darkness into His light of love. We have little power on our own. Yet, Christ was born into the world so you would have the power to reach out to His almighty power, a power without end.
