A Christmas Devotional

About living a life of peace on earth:

Luke 2:14 "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom his favor rests." (NIV)

If Christ really brought us peace on earth, where is it? Over the last two thousand years, millions have died as the result of some form of war and violence. Casualties continue to mount. Where is the peace?

The peace of Christ, the peace on earth, is a matter of choosing to take in His peace within ourselves. You can choose to live in peace. Every person on earth can choose to live in peace. Not every person will make this choice but this choice is each person's to make. When we face the strife and hardship of life we can choose peace as a response rather than choosing war. Certainly, sayingy you can choose peace is easier than actually choosing peace, especially in times of great upheaval and conflict. However, every day, all of us can visit His manger and gaze upon Jesus asleep in the hay. All of us can visit Him every day to have His peace.
