About the power of Christ's light in the world

Matthew 2:9 lo, the star, which they saw in the east, went before them, till it came and stood over where the young child was. (KJV)

We can only guess or speculate about the star appearing at the time of Christ's birth. We do not know how bright the star was. Certainly it was bright enough to get the attention of the Magi. However, the star could not compare to the light of hope brought into the world by Christ. When the world is immersed in darkness, when people are giving up hope, when it seems there is no chance of victorya light dawns in the heart and the light is the Light of Christ. The power of Christ's light in the world is not a power measured by candle watts. The power of Christ's Light is the power to transform lives and make new what is old. The power of Christ's Light is the power to bring miracles, to empower the lame to walk, and give sight to the blind. What we do not always know is how much power His Light contains. We do not know the magnificence of His Light as lives are saved. We do not know the greatness of the power of His light to change lives from sin to righteousness. What we do know is thisHis light has come into the world and as we begin to see the world in His light we exclaim, "Once I was blind, but now I see."
