A Christmas Devotional
About
your being a child of the Child:
Matthew 1:21 his people from their sins. (NIV)
We often say Christmas is a time for children. Indeed, all the gifts, activities, and celebrations can be a magical time for children. What we can forget is how all of us are God's children. All of us are a part of God's family. As surely as we want to give good gifts to the children in our life, God has surely given each of us the very best gift in sending His Son to us so long ago. As an adult, Christ gave us the most precious gift of all, the gift of eternal life if we accept Him into our heart and life. As a child of God, you can spend every day of the year in joy and happiness. As a child of God, your present moments, no matter how dark or bleak, can be happy moments because your tomorrow in Heaven will be more glorious than you could ever imagine. As a child of God, your greatest Christmas gift is His gift of saving love welling up within your heart and overflowing to all those people around you.
