About mourning, grief, and sorrow:

Matthew 5:4 Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. (NIV)

Grief, loss, and sorrow separate and isolate you from your self, from others, and from God. In your emotional pain, God is merciful and loving towards you even if you have lost Him or do not know Him. In the mourning you undergo on life's pathway, God helps you heal. God will help you heal from the terrible pain of loss you experience. God's comfort is within you every minute and God is just a prayer away. In making His comfort available to you the Lord brings into your heart a soothing spirit. In the mystery of how Christ works, His comfort in your deepest sorrow reflects a kind of heavenly light under which all who believe in Him and who trust in Him can stand. This universal light under God's love reinforces in you His hope and His assurance really does come in the hour of your deepest need.
