Carrying unresolved guilt and shame can devastate a person's life. Christ forgives us of our sins and in doing so He lifts from our shoulders a lifetime of guilt and shame. This is not to say we should not feel guilt and shame when we commit a sin�because we should feel guilt and shame. However, when we repent and give over our sins, our guilt, and our shame to Christ, we must truly and fully GIVE OVER. Many times, persons have a difficult time forgiving themselves. In weakness, they carry a needless burden Christ does not want them to carry. If you carry needless guilt and shame, you will not be able to be a fully effective witness for Christ. The burden of your guilt and shame stands in the way of your being all of who Christ wants you to be. Needless guilt and shame are like an inescapable cavern where we grope around in darkness. Today, this day, if you give over you sins, your grief, your shame, and your guilt to Christ, He is faithful and He will cleanse you and make you white as snow in His light and love.
