About feeling ashamed of whom you are
2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! (NIV)
Many persons are ashamed of themselves. However, in Christ, being ashamed of who we are, is against what Christ wants for us. Being ashamed of who we are doubles us over in needless pain. When we are doubled over in this needless pain because we are ashamed of whom we are, we are never fully able to look up to see Christ standing before us, calling us to be His terrific person. So many times, shame over things we have done, how we are, or who we are is held in our heart for false reasons. Indeed, if we have said, thought, or done what is not in God's will, God then wants us to fix what we did, and not repeat what we did. To feel ashamed of who you are, in many ways, prevents you from seeing and absorbing the tremendous life-changing love of God. Becoming a new person in Christ's love is not mere words. Becoming a new person in Christ's love is a real event taking place in the hearts of real people all over the world. Becoming a new person in Christ's love erases all your shame. Becoming a new person in Christ's love has always been and will always be God's destiny for you.
