About the foolishness of worry� Luke 12:22 Then Jesus said to his disciples: "Therefore I tell you, do
not worry about your life, what you will eat; or about your body, what you will
wear. 23 Life is more than food, and the body more than clothes. 24 Consider the
ravens: They do not sow or reap, they have no storeroom or barn; yet God feeds
them. And how much more valuable you are than birds! 25 Who of you by worrying
can add a single hour to his lifeB? 26 Since you cannot do this very little
thing, why do you worry about the rest? 27 "Consider how the lilies grow.
They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his splendor
was dressed like one of these. 28 If that is how God clothes the grass of the
field, which is here today, and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, how much more
will he clothe you, O you of little faith! (NIV) What we worried about just a few weeks, months, or years ago has likely been
forgotten. To worry is foolish because when we worry we immobilize our life and
we do not take action on the object of our worry. Worry is the conjuring up of
dark imaginings unlikely to happen. Even when our dark imaginings are likely to
happen, what good does it do us to let our hearts sit and churn and stew over
them? To worry is to not place God where God belongs because God belongs in your
heart where your worry is. The power of God in your heart and mind cancels out
all your worry because worry is a foolish exercise in doing nothing. If you have
a worry, take the worry to God and exchange the worry for the love of God. If
you have a worry, after you have given the worry to God, then take action on the
worry. Last, see worry for what it is�a bad exercise of your imagination.
