A Daily Devotional

About when God says "No" and we must trust Him:

Psalm 31:15 My times are in your hands; deliver me from my enemies and from those who pursue me. 16 Let your face shine on your servant; save me in your unfailing love. (NIV)

God has plans and purposes for your life. However, God's plans and purposes for your life may not be your plans or your purposes. You may not always know with certainty what God wants for you and from you. You may go to God in prayer begging and pleading for answers you will never receive. Worse yet, you may receive an outright "No" answer from God. When we receive God's "No" answer, we must then put our life into His hands. We must recall He loves us beyond measure. When we receive God's "No" answer, we must remember His plans and His purposes are more important than our own. If we demand our own way rather than going His way, His plans and purposes for our life might not be fulfilled. Living fruitfully and fully with God's "No" answers in humility enables us to do God's will. Willingness to live with God's "No" answers enables us to fit into His plans and His purposes. We may not like His answers. We may not like His plans because we may have plans more pleasing to us. We may not like His purposes for us because we may have our own purposes. However, if we want His peace, His love, and His compassion then we must accept His answers, whether we like His answers or not.
