About God's purpose as our purpose for living:

Psalm 42:1 As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, O God. (NIV)

We can lose our purpose for living. We can make plans and design our life to achieve our personal goals and ambitions. We can invent our own purpose for living. We can even live our life with no particular purpose in mind. We can live from day to day with no intent and no direction. We can live our life being guided by others and guided by the influences of the world around us. However, we are to live our life with God's purpose as our purpose. Sometimes we do not know what God wants from us in specific terms but we always know what God wants from us in general terms. God's purpose for our life is written in His Word. God's purpose for our life should be our purpose and our only purpose. Every thought, word, and action on our part should be a reflection of God's purpose for our life. God's blessings and benefits flow in our life when we make God's purpose for living our purpose for living. Whenever we lose direction and purpose, we must always revert back to living with God's purpose. In addition, we must be sure all the parts of our life will fit together as He intends. When our plans and designs for our life, even plans and designs we have dedicated to His glory, come apart, we can always be assured God has new plans and new designs custom tailored and crafted so everything we do will be to His glory.
