About how confession restores our relationship with God
Numbers 5: 5 The Lord said to Moses, 6 "Say to the Israelites: `When a man or woman wrongs another in any way and so is unfaithful to the Lord, that person is guilty 7 and must confess the sin he has committed. (NIV)
We do not like to confess. We do not like to own up to our faults, our errors, our mistakes, or our sins. Sometimes we commit wrongs against others, we keep the darkness of these wrongs within us, and the darkness grows in us like a cancer. Gods word says we must confess the sin we committed. When we do a wrong thing, we are unfaithful to the Lord. We break our relationship with God when we do a wrong thing. To repair this relationship back to a point of wholeness, we must confess the wrong we have done. Christ gives us a way to repair our broken relationship with Him rather than casting us aside or throwing us into hell fire. The Lord wants us to be faithful to Him. He knows we are sin-laden and we are imperfect.
Our problem of being sin-laden caused God to let His only son be crucified so if you are willing, your sins can be washed away by Christ's blood shed for you on the Cross.
