A Daily Devotional

About how God enables you to have faith:

Mark 11:22 "Have faith in God," Jesus answered. (NIV)

God could have created you to be a totally faithless being. However, if God had created totally faithless humans then humans would not have survived. As a race of intelligent beings, without the capacity for faith, we would have to spend all of our time and intellectual power continually checking and verifying everything in our existence. God gave you the ability to hold and treasure within your being the idea of Him. God gave you the ability to hold within your mind the idea of other unseen things. God took a big chance in giving you the ability to have faith. God took a big chance in giving you the capacity for faith because you then have the choice of believing in Him or not believing in Him. God took this chance in you so you could use His gift of faith to glorify Him. Remarkably, God expressed His love for you by giving you the ability to believe in Him and love Him even when you are a fallen sinner. God went even further by sending His Son to die for you, again hoping you would use your capability of faith to accept Christ as your Savior. The lowest point of your life is when you fail to use your capability of faith given to you by God. The highest point of your life is when you use your capability of faith given to you by God for His glory.
