About how Satan uses distractions..

Deuteronomy 5 The officers shall say to the army: "Has anyone built a new house and not dedicated it? Let him go home, or he may die in battle and someone else may dedicate it. 6 Has anyone planted a vineyard and not begun to enjoy it? Let him go home, or he may die in battle and someone else enjoy it. 7 Has anyone become pledged to a woman and not married her? Let him go home, or he may die in battle and someone else marry her." (NIV)

Distractions, like dogs barking, horns blowing, or dogs wanting in your lap when you are typing can take your concentration away from other things. Satan and the powers of darkness know how to use distractions as temptations. Satan is an expert at distraction and Satan uses distractions to take you off of God’s path for your life. The glitter and glamour of life are used to attract your sinful desires and to make you unholy. Even barking dogs can make you angry and impatient. These little subtleties of distraction can lead to full-blown temptations and those temptations can lead to a total falling away from Christ and His presence in your life. When you manage the little distractions of daily life you are nipping the bigger problems in the bud before you get caught up in a swirl of temptation or a circumstance of totally losing Christ as the center of your life.
