A Daily Devotional
About if you only knew how valuable and treasured you are (Part 5 Of 5):
Galatians 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. (NIV)
If you knew how valuable and treasured you are, you would spend more time listening to the old ones among you. You would spend more time with the old ones so you can gain their wisdom as you try to ease their burdens. You would try to ease the burdens of the old ones who are too often forgotten and ignored in the world in which you live.
If you knew how valuable and treasured you are, you would spend more time and effort giving more kindness and thoughtfulness to those who are alone and lonely. You would be present more in thought and in person with the lonely because you understand all persons are truly alone in the world. All persons have only their own thoughts and life within which to live.
If you knew how valuable and treasured you are, you would always, always, always subdue your anger with others and reach out to them in peace and love rather than hurling anger, hate, and violence at others. You would come to understand when you give peace and love away, the more peace and love you experience.
These thoughts are idealistic only if you don't do them.
