About the joy of the Holy Spirit:

1 Thessalonians 1:6 You became imitators of us and of the Lord; in spite of severe suffering, you welcomed the message with the joy given by the Holy Spirit. (NIV)

When we invite Christ into our life, the Holy Spirit's living water touches our soul in His overflowing fountain. From the Holy Spirit, Christ's living water flows into our soul. From His overflowing fountain we feel the joy of His presence, the joy of His love, and the joy of living life to do His will. No matter what kind of trials and tribulations we face, the joy coming from the Holy Spirit overwhelms any trial or tribulation we face. In moments of our loneliness, the joy emerging from the touch of His love dispels our gloom of feeling alone. When there is sadness in our heart, the Holy Spirit brings a joy pushing the sadness aside. When we are in pain and suffering, the Holy Spirit heals the source of our hurt and eases our pain. In any kind of trouble, we can have joy and laughter because of the working of the Spirit. In distress, a peace falls upon us from the joy in His love. In times of fear, we find courage because the Holy Spirit lives within us and shows us His way through many dangers. With the Holy Spirit working in us, there is no obstacle big enough and no mountain high enough to keep His joy from touching our heart.
