A Daily Devotional
About
the lie and the truth: God's love for us:
Romans 5:8 But God demonstrates his own
love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. (NIV)
Look at the opposite of this verse: But God demonstrates his hatred for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ did not die for us.
For someone to die for you, if you were holy and righteous, is one thing.
For someone to die for you if you were unholy, unrighteous, and undeserving is another.
We did not deserve Christ's sacrifice for us.
We did not deserve Christ's sacrifice for us because we were still sinners.
However, God demonstrated His love for us through Christ's sacrifice.
God shows us His love. God did not just tell us He loves us.
God demonstrated His love in the most tragic and pain-filled moment in human history. God demonstrated His love for us by letting Christ die for us.
