About loving good, hating evil:

Hebrews 1:9 You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness; therefore God, your God, has set you above your companions by anointing you with the oil of joy." (NIV)

Have you ever seen a person whose life is torn apart by sin be filled with joy? Certainly not! Sin has a way of destroying and killing off true happiness and joy in one's life. A sinful life is a dark and terrible place to live. A sinful life is one in which the sinner has to work so hard to deal with the consequences of the sin there is no time or energy left to find joy, peace, and happiness. There is no joy, no peace, and no happiness in a life not cleansed by the blood of Christ. When we love the true, good, and right things, and we hate the wicked and sinful things, we have the Holy Spirit poured out upon us�a pouring out we call "the oil of joy."
