A Daily Devotional
About the magnitude of Christ's love:
Luke 23:34 Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots. (KJV)
We are all worthy in Christ's eyes. From the cross, Christ looked down at the people who crucified Him and beseeched God to forgive them because they did not know what they were doing. We who are just mere mortals cannot always grasp the magnitude of Christ's love. We cannot always grasp the magnitude of how Christ can see us as worth saving or how Christ could see us as worthy enough to die for us. When we accept Christ, we can begin to learn to love because He first loved us. When we begin to learn to love, in Christ, we have the Supreme Example of love. In Christ, we have the Supreme Model of a person who loves us in fully unconditional ways. To learn to love is one of the greatest lessons of life. To learn to accept love is also one of life's greatest lessons. The highest pinnacle of life is not found in recognition, fame, or fortune. The highest pinnacle of life is to love and accept love.
