A Daily Devotional

About your measure of life:

Psalm 23:5 Thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over

Each of us measures life in some way. We all have a yardstick or gauge we use to measure how far we have come, how far we have to go, or how we compare to others. Some persons tragically have only a limited way to measure their life or they try to measure their life with a funnel. Using a funnel, persons can hold things for a short while but eventually, everything being measured falls through and they feel they have a life of emptiness. The fullness of our life depends upon the measure we use and what we do with what we use as a measuring device. The fullness of our life depends upon what we do with the blessings God gives us. When we give back to God the blessings God gives us, then these blessings multiply. As these blessings begin to pour out over us we can exclaim, indeed, "My cup runneth over."
