About our God made into frailty
1 Kings 8:27 "But will God really dwell on earth? The heavens, even the highest heaven, cannot contain you. How much less this temple I have built! 28 Yet give attention to your servant's prayer and his plea for mercy, O LORD my God. Hear the cry and the prayer that your servant is praying in your presence this day. (NIV)
How could He do it? How could all the power of creation, the Creator Himself, lower Himself into our human frailty? Not only did He become frail like us, in His frailty He suffered the most horrible of deaths for us. We cannot ever know the full dimensions of Him. What we do know is He lowered Himself into our frailty because He loves us. Christ lowered Himself into our sin-plagued existence to save us from the sin plague upon us. Our response to Him has not always been the best. We turned away from Him, tortured Him, crucified Him, and even now only a few believe in Him. Christ lowered Himself for just a tiny remnant of humanity because of the immensity of His love. Our purpose in life should be to repent and fall down before Him in godly sorrow. Our purpose in life should be to repent and let our sinful hearts melt down in the shadow of His cross
