A Daily Devotional
About our hope in what was
promised:
Acts 26:6 And now it is
because of my hope in what God has promised our fathers that I am on trial
today. (NIV)
If I die and
there is nothing, I shall be supremely disappointed. I shall be supremely
disappointed because nearly all of my life I have expected and hoped to see
Jesus face to face in Heaven. I expect to live in eternal glory after I die. In
addition, millions of others, called Christians, shall all be supremely
disappointed when they die if they find there is nothing. We shall be
disappointed, because we have been promised we will live forever in grandeur. We
have been promised our earthly pile of trouble we carry upon our backs will end
at the gates of heaven. We have been promised a trip to sail over the rainbow.
We have been promised a home so full of love and goodness our language fails us.
Our hope in this promise stands upon our connection to God Himself. Our hope in
this promise is the unbreakable chain connecting us to what gave us life in the
beginning and continues to give us life right now. Our hope in this promise of
eternal life in joy is the lifeline connecting us to what we know is the source
of all life. We don't just hope, WE KNOW!!!
We know the Source of all life in the past and in the future into eternity. The
Source of all life is Jesus. We shall not be disappointed. Not now, not ever!!!
