A Daily Devotional

About our refuge in our spiritual war:

Isaiah 27:5 Or else let them come to me for refuge; let them make peace with me, yes, let them make peace with me."

Making peace is always than making war. In our world and in our reality, war is all around us. There is often conflict in our hearts. There is often conflict in our relationships. Because we are continually under temptation and we are under the influence of sin, there is conflict in our life at every turn. In our battles and conflicts, we seek escapes and refuge in ways and in places where God does not want us to go. We seek escapes and refuge in ways and in places harmful and detrimental to us and to others. As a Christian, we must fight for Christ in our on-going conflict and spiritual war. In fighting our spiritual war, we can become worn out. We need a resting place to renew and rejuvenate. In seeking a refuge during our battles, we can always go to Christ for refuge. In Christ, we have a special place and a special person where we can find new life and renewed hope. In Christ, we have a refuge. In Christ, we have a place and a person who will not only heal us, but we have a place and a person who will also shelter us and give us greater fulfillment in life.
