About our vanishing self in
Christ:
Acts
20:35 In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must
help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: `It is more

True love for Christ results in a vanishing self. Our old self disappears when we repent. Then, when we accept Christ into our heart, we become instruments of Christ. We become persons who give. We become giving persons because the old selfish person we were when we were physically born has vanished in our new spiritual birth. We also become giving persons because we see Christ on the Cross giving His life for us. When we see Christ hanging on the Cross, His love for us compels us to give to others and give to God.s
