About picking up your cross:

Matthew 10:38 and anyone who does not take his cross and follow me is not worthy of me. 39 Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it. (NIV)

Picking up your cross of suffering, then following our Lord Jesus, is a choice you can make. Perhaps in your life your decision for Christ was made so long ago you have forgotten about the implications of choosing Him. Let this devotional be a reminder to dedicate your suffering to Christ. In your suffering, you can tragically turn away from Christ. However, if you remain with Him in your trials, you become one of His most precious treasures. Christ can see every moment of your hardship. In every adversity, Christ is with you. For some people, suffering is an unwanted way of life. For some people, their faithfulness during suffering is the greatest prayer any human could ever pray. Christ glories in your faithfulness in your dark times. When you remain faithful in your suffering, Christ will bless you with His power and grace. As you remain faithful in hardship, Christ does great works through you. Although you may not always see how God works, you exert His power of love by standing firm in faithfulness. Your faithfulness unleashes Christ's power in the world. Christ did not call you to carry your cross for no reason. Christ called you to carry your cross so His kingdom would be empowered upon the earth through you.
