About poverty and wealth of the spirit:

Habakkuk 2:9 "Woe to him who builds his realm by unjust gain to set his nest on high, to escape the clutches of ruin! 10 You have plotted the ruin of many peoples, shaming your own house and forfeiting your life.

Money is the great destroyer of lives. For those persons who live in poverty and adore wealth, there is great woe in their life. Terribly, poverty can make its mark upon the human heart. Poverty can leave scars upon the heart lasting a lifetime. The scars of poverty can be passed on to generations to come. Conversely, for those persons who live in poverty, who love only God, and who seek only to serve Him each day, their life is rich with what money cannot buy. For impoverished souls who love money there is no joy. For impoverished souls who kneel down at the alter of the world's riches, there is no peace, no contentment, no love, and no happiness. However, for the impoverished person who holds the love of God deep within the heart, there is a peace passing all understanding. For the financially impoverished person who holds the love of God deep within the heart, there is contentment, there is a love unbounded by daily afflictions, and there is a resounding happiness baffling the wealthiest persons on earth.
