About the power of prayer, Part 2 of 5

Psalm 5:1 For the director of music. For flutes. A psalm of David. Give ear to my words, O Lord, consider my sighing. 2 Listen to my cry for help,  my King and my God, for to you I pray. 3 In the morning, O Lord, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait in expectation. Imagine trying to carry on a relationship with someone without communicating. Imagine needing what God wants to provide and never talking to him. For too many of us, too much of the time, we try to conduct our faith without communicating with God in prayer. The whole idea of prayer is communicating to God because we are in a love relationship with Him.

The power of prayer makes us morally stronger. We need to be morally strong because we face temptation at every turn. Everyone faces temptation. We are tempted to think, do, and say what Satan wants us to think, do, and say. We need God's power available to us in prayer so we can resist temptation.

The power of prayer makes us spiritually stronger. Trying to battle the darkness of the world, trying to beat back our pain and suffering, trying to carry our weight of grief, worries, and woes can weaken our spirit.
