Matthew 5:8 Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God. (NIV)

We are all capable of having pure hearts even though we are born with impure hearts. Our willingness to accept Christ into our heart, and our willingness to repent or turn away from the darkness within us determines the purity of our heart. When your heart is pure you have spiritual vision. Your spiritual vision permits you to see God. Your heart leads you to your visible God. Your mind can be clean of evil thoughts but your heart can have sinful yearnings making you blind to God's love, wisdom, and presence within you. Your spirit has eyes. To see clearly with your spiritual heart, you must confront your sinful heart, confess to the sinful yearnings in your heart, seek Christ's forgiveness, and commit to keeping your heart turned only toward to Christ.
