A Daily Devotional

This Devotional Is Related To Dependency And Co-dependency Issues. Rules Of Godly Common Sense Apply.

About staying busy so you do not have to think about things:

Matthew 11:19 The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, 'Here is a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and "sinners." 'But wisdom is proved right by her actions." (NIV)

There is something very healing about work and staying busy. God did not make us to just sit around and think negative thoughts. God made us to be persons who get up, get going, and produce. However, when we stay busy so we do not have to think about bad things, we are effectively running away from a truth we do not want to face. We would all be better off facing an awful truth and taking action against the awful truth. We are not better off making ourselves busy so we can run away from the awful truth. With Christ beside you, you can deal with any circumstance. Even the worst of the worst circumstances can be dealt with effectively when Christ is your friend and guide. When you have to face a difficult time or task, take your burden to Christ. In His love and grace, make plans to deal with what you might face. Staying busy in the face of trials is a good thing to do as long as you know what you are facing and you face the trials with confidence and hope in Christ.
