About taking time to be spiritual:

Acts 17:27 God did this so that men would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from each one of us. 28`For in him we live and move and have our being.' As some of your own poets have said, `We are his offspring.' (NIV)

Life can crush us. The pain, insecurity, and demands of our life can crush us to such an extent there is not much of us left. We seek our diversions in television, in reading, in doing all kinds of things both healthy and unhealthy. However, no matter how much of our time is taken up in diversions, we need to make a conscious effort to take time to delve into spiritual pursuits. Prayer, meditation, reading the scripture, reflecting upon the truths of the scripture, and looking at our inner life can pay huge spiritual and life dividends. When we neglect the spiritual parts of our life, life comes up empty for us. When we include the spiritual parts of our life and take time to be spiritual, our life is filled with God's love and grace. Even in times of hardship with trials unending, we can have the peace of God when we live life in spiritual terms.
