A Daily Devotional
About talking to God when everything has come apart:
Isaiah 59:9 We look for light, but all is darkness; for brightness, but we walk in deep shadows. 10 Like the blind we grope along the wall, feeling our way like men without eyes. At midday we stumble as if it were twilight; among the strong, we are like the dead. (NIV)
Life has its chaotic moments, chaotic days, and chaotic weeks. Life can seem to unravel and we may often feel helpless to put what has come apart in our life back together again. When we feel helpless in the chaos, we must make every effort to talk to God. Even when we have no words to say, God relishes and loves the fact we at least want to talk to Him. Even when we have no words because our life is filled with the helter-skelter of things coming apart, God loves us for wanting to say something to Him. Many people move though life and life's chaotic times without ever thinking about God or thinking about talking to our ever-present friend. God may not put our life in order for us, but God will be with us, give us wisdom, and give us His love as we struggle to make something good from something bad. When our life comes apart, we are not alone. When our life comes apart, we need to take the disorder of our life to God because God can make all things right, even when all things seem to have gone wrong. No matter how far away God might seem to be, He is always near enough to hear your every thought no matter whether things have come apart or not.
