About telling yourself you can't do anything right
1 Peter 1:8 Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, (NIV)
Every person on earth has made mistakes. Have you ever watched a toddler learning to walk? Take a few steps then down they go. This falling down activity could give a toddler the idea he or she can't do anything right. All that falling downall that wobblingthe activity would be a lot easier just to crawl on hands and knees. However, instinctively, we want to walk. Fortunately for us, we don't remember our failures at trying to walk when we are a toddler. When we are a toddler, we only remember our successes at trying to walk. To tell yourself you can't do anything right is telling yourself an outright lie. To lie to yourself, to others, or to God is an outright sin. Although you might be trying to tell yourself a lie to protect yourself, what you end up doing is hurting yourself. We all have moments of self-doubt when we make mistakes. However, in our moments of self-doubt, we must turn to Christ and see how He trusts us and wants our best to come forward. Christ invested His life in you. When He died for you He put faith in you to always put your faith in Him. Mistakes are a part of living but to keep yourself down by telling yourself all you do is make mistakes, is a correctable sin.
