About the placement of our hope…

1 Peter 1:21 Through him you believe in God, who raised him from the dead and glorified him, and so your faith and hope are in God. (NIV)

We take belief for granted. We believe our cars will start in the morning and don’t worry about our car (unless we start having car problems). We believe our electricity will flow through the lines perfectly so we do not test the electricity or wiring to make sure the electrical system is working as the system should. We believe the label on bottles of medication tells the truth about what is in the bottle. We do not take medication and test the med to make sure the medication is what the label says. We use our powers of belief every hour without thinking much about our belief. However, our power to believe should go beyond mundane things. Our real faith and hope should be placed in the love of God or who we know is God Himself. When we place our hope and faith in God our hope and faith produces in us a confidence and glory in our life. We have peace and happiness no matter what our outward circumstances might be like.
