A Daily Devotional
This Devotional Is Related To Dependency And Co-dependency Issues. Rules Of Godly Common Sense Apply.
About thinking you know better than anyone else about how things should turn out and how people should behave:
Philippians 2:3 Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. (NIV)
Sometimes we absolutely positively do know better than others about how things should turn out and how others should behave. What we must understand in this instance is people can learn from their failures. What we must also understand is we must live in total humility before Christ. To think you know more than others, or to think you know better than others, are both examples of arrogance. Living in humility demands we not think we know better than others.
Even if you really do know better, or you really do know how things should turn out, being arrogant will not help you and will definitely not help others. We truly help others when we are humble.
Think about this..would you want to take advice from someone who is arrogant, even if the arrogant person is right? Most people are going to answer "No!" When you think you do know better or you know more about how others should behave, your greatest influence is to give love in humility.
