About a treasure of the future:
Psalm 37:37 Consider the blameless,
observe the upright; there is a future for the man of peace. (NIV)
As we live into our senior years, the number of our future days grows shorter. In our senior years, our thoughts are more often about our past than about our future. Yet, no matter our age, we always have a treasure in the future. We always have a treasure in the future no matter what our past and present are like. We have a treasure in the future because our future is a time we can use to shine the light of God's love into the heart of others. The future is a time when we can grow by giving to others rather than receiving. The future is a time of drawing closer to God, not only in terms of seeing Christ face to face, but a time of taking on new challenges as we do His work. In our future, there are going to be glorious moments when we walk with Christ in His heavenly garden. In our future, there are going to be glorious moments of receiving the Lord's love and comfort. In our future, in our ultimate future, there shines out our promised land called Heaven.
