You may have heard the phrase "The devil is in the details." Satan loves to use the little details of life to bug us into full-blown distractions. In waging your war against the darkness, if you manage the details of life, then Satan is put at a severe disadvantage. For example, if you are facing a crisis like surgery or some other kind of fearful event, then count your blessings one by one. Count your moments one at a time. Treasure your minutes in life right where you are, right at the present time. We so often get distracted by what is ahead of us we fail to see what is around us at the moment. We miss out on life, on people, and on the love of God by letting ourselves be distracted. We are not helpless in this matter. The Holy Spirit, when we call upon Christ, can come to our aid and help us maintain our focus.
