A Daily Devotional
About upward expectations:
Luke 12:40 You also must be ready, because
the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him." (NIV)
Each of us holds expectations within our heart and mind. Day and night, our expectations work to our benefit or to our detriment. When you expect the worst, you enable the worst to happen. When you expect the best, you enable the best to happen. You can expect God to instill within you a heart full of trust in Him. Holding a heart full of trust in God brings you a heart brimming with faith. When you look at the devastation of the world, you can expect God to produce great achievements for Him through you. You can expect the highest calling of God's will upon your life. Christ's calling upon your life serves as a mentor and guide in your daily walk. When you expect the best from God, you receive the best. When you expect the most from God, you receive the most. When you expect the best and the most, God gives you a heart and mind overflowing in His love and wisdom. God gives you the love and wisdom to solve the problems you face. When there are trials and tribulations in your life, expect to see the Lord face to face. Then, His glory will shine in your heart for others to see.
