About upward eyes:
Psalms 33:13 From heaven the Lord
looks down and sees all mankind; 14 from his dwelling place he watches all who
live on earth 15 he who forms the hearts of all, who considers everything they
do. (NIV)
Some of us cannot
help but see the tragic sin and darkness of the world around us. We often look
at the life of those around us and we see their spiritual hunger. We often look
at the direction of the nations of the world and see the downward spiral.
Tragically, the world has gone so far astray there appears to be no hope. We
must not be led astray ourselves when we see the sin, suffering, and darkness
around us. We must make every effort, both in prayer and out of prayer, to turn
our eyes upward toward God. We must make every effort to see above our present
circumstances as we look upward to our Lord in heaven. When hope seems to be no more, we must turn our eyes upward to count the countless stars in the
sky. When hope seems gone, we must remember the Lord's love is as infinite
as the stars in the heavens. When things look bleak, we must make every effort
to cast our eyes upward to grasp the Lord's billowy clouds floating their way
across His azure blue sky.
