About using outside resources:

Joshua 1:14 You are to help your brothers 15 until the LORD gives them rest, as he has done for you, and until they too have taken possession of the land that the Lord your God is giving them. (NIV)

God has made incredible resources available to you. In every part of life, in this modern era, there are resources of incredible value just waiting to be used. Libraries of all kinds are teeming with information. Books are published daily in every field. Experts in every field of endeavor are available to you. Admittedly, the world is full of sin and darkness. Indeed, the resources of the world available to you are usually tainted with sin. However, we must not close ourselves off from the world if we need help. If you need your roof repaired, you can pray about this matter of repairing your roof. However, if you pray God will fix your roof you then you may be asking God to do for you, what you can do or what someone else can do. In wisdom, when you need help, be smart and get the help you need. In the spiritual and emotional realms, your help is the Lord. Your greatest resource in life is God the Father, Jesus Christ the Son, and the Holy Spirit. In worldly matters, you need to be smart and wise by using the resources at hand. Even when you use worldly resources, you have an incredible opportunity to be His witness.
