Sing praises to the Lord, enthroned in Zion; proclaim among the nations what he has done. � For he who avenges blood remembers; he does not ignore the cry of the afflicted. � O Lord, see how my enemies persecute me! Have mercy and lift me up from the gates of death, � The Lord is King for ever and ever; the nations will perish from his land. � You hear, O Lord, the desire of the afflicted; you encourage them, and you listen to their cry, � defending the fatherless and the oppressed, in order that man, who is of the earth, may terrify no more. � I hate those who cling to worthless idols; I trust in the Lord. � I will be glad and rejoice in your love, for you saw my affliction and knew the anguish of my soul. � You have not handed me over to the enemy but have set my feet in a spacious place. �
