A Daily Devotional

Ephesians 5:11Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them. 12 For it is shameful even to mention what the disobedient do in secret. 13 But everything exposed by the light becomes visible, 14 for it is light that makes everything visible. (NIV)

If Satan were going to kill you, without killing your body, he would do the following things. Satan would (1) take away your spiritual vision, (2) stop you from understanding new spiritual things, (3) never let the Light of His love into your soul, (4) take away your reasons to advance or grow in spirit, and (5) prevent you from feeling any kind of inner power. Satan’s ultimate victory would be to turn you into a dead person walking. In opposition to Satan, God wants you to feel His power. God wants you to find and use His power. God’s power is sensed, experienced, and real to you when you can see outside or beyond your own life. When you are wrapped up only in our own problems, you lose your vision. When you let the forces of darkness push you around, you lose the ability to learn new things or be enlightened. When you ignore God, Christ, or the Holy Spirit, you lose whatever light you had in your life. When you do not talk to God in prayer, you lose your motivation to grow and get better. However, even though you were once dead, or you are now dead, you can come alive again…simply by accepting Christ into your life and heart. After opening up and accepting Christ into your life, the Holy Spirit power of the love of God is one of our greatest offensive weapons against Satan. The love of God is powerfully used in your times of prayerful meditation.
