A Daily Devotional

About when you cannot find God:

John 10:27 My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. 28 I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of my hand. 29 My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father's hand. 30 I and the Father are one." (NIV)

In the daily travails of life, we sometimes lose contact with God. Our worries, sufferings, and troubles so dominate us we lose the spiritual connection to our Lord. Even if we firmly believe we have lost contact with God, God has not lost contact with us. No matter how far away God may seem, He is always present in His kingdom. If we are trying to find God, we will find Him in His dwelling within us. When we come to a place in life where we cannot find Him, we must stop and listen to His voice within our heart. Christ speaks to us day and night. We never truly lose God. When we think we cannot find God we have not lost Himwe have only lost the connection to Him. Indeed, in times of stress and strife, Satan delights in piling on the troubles so we lose our spiritual connection to God's love. In these times of suffering, we must remember to take time to rest in His presence. In our suffering, we must listen to His gentle voice in the silence of the moment.
