Topic: Adversity And Christ’s Birth

In the warm glow of Christ resting in the manger there is a spirit of love in the air. The spirit of love in the air when Christ was born is a calm and comforting love all of us need, especially when we are in the deep water of adversity. If we let Christ speak to us in our times of trouble, we can hear Him call us to be strong as we stand next to Him in His manger. If we let it, any adversity, any hurt, any heartache, any illness, any sickness, any infirmity, any obstacle of any kind can give us a new perspective on Christ’s birth. We get a new perspective on the world when we hold the baby Jesus in our arms. When we hold Him in our arms, all the problems, cares, and worries of this life melt away. When we hold Him, His love flows over us and we begin to see there really is an eternal life for us. When we hold Him, we begin to see His eternal life for us makes all our present problems disappear. Christ’s love makes all things bearable because His heaven awaits us. Christ’s love makes every hurt easier to take because His heaven is just ahead.
