Topic: Christmas Candy Or Christmas Turkey

Christmas candy is a tradition in most countries where Christians observe Christ’s birthday. Christmas turkey is also a tradition, especially in the United States. Candy is tastes better than turkey. Kids love candy but as kids grow up they come to understand too much candy is not good for them, so instead of eating a lot of candy on Christmas, adults eat a lot of turkey. In much the same way, we are supposed to grow up from being excited as a child about what we can get for Christmas to being excited as an adult about what we can give. In our spiritual life we are supposed to grow up. As we mature into adulthood, we are supposed to want to give rather than receive. We are supposed to want to serve rather than be served. We are supposed to want to be mature rather than immature. Christmas is a time when we may want to revisit our childhood but we must remember we are to be mature in our present day and in our present age. A little candy for an adult may not be such a bad thing. However, a little Christmas turkey is much better for us than Christmas candy.
