Topic: Christmas Symbol - The Christmas Tree Comes To America "O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree you come from God eternal. A symbol of the
Lord of love whom God to man sent from above. O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree, you come
from God, eternal" from the song "O Tannenbaum" By late 1700's, evergreen
trees were popular all over Germany. Thirty or forty years later, the custom was
introduced to Eastern Europe, Scandinavia, France, and England. English writer Charles
Dickens called it "The new German toy." German immigrants, not English, brought
this "toy" to early America. These words were posted at one of Shepherd's Care Ministries Sites called Wisdom
