Topic: Christ In The Darkness

Before the first Christmas and even afterward, human beings have been deceived. As a race of so-called intelligent beings, we have lived in the darkness. We, quite often, have been mislead and have not known or recognized the truth. Jesus came into the darkness of this world to give us light for our souls, light for our lives, and light for our hearts. For the greatest darkness of the world is not some dark corner of our physical universe, but the dark place in our hearts. God had many choices about how He would try to get us to a place in our life where the darkness in our heart could be lifted or made to disappear. In His loving grace and wisdom, God chose to send a baby to us as the Light of our world. The darkness may have some power over us, but the darkness cannot destroy us unless we are willing to be destroyed. Our giving of gifts to each other at Christmas is a continuing way Christ has of helping us destroy the darkness in our heart by giving away His light and love.
