Topic: If You Believe

Matthew 21:22 "If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer." (NIV)

This is a revolutionary idea. How could anyone make such a statement? We know the power to deliver what we ask for in prayer is, for many people, beyond our understanding. We know, and God knows, if we all had the kind of power to make what we want in prayer a reality, sin would enter in. When sin enters in, then our asking in prayer becomes corrupted. We never fully "believe" because of our sin. We never fully "believe" because sin places seeds of doubt in us. We never fully "believe" and fully ask in prayer because what we ask for is tainted by the seeds of sin and the influence of Satanic evil. When we pray, we must pray in utter and total humility. When we pray, we must ask only that God's will be done through us and that whatever selfishness exists in us…that this selfishness would be totally erased.
