Topic: Persons Of The Bible - Joanna The name Joanna is the Latinized form of Ιωαννα (Ioanna), feminine form of Ioannes. The name Joanna means "whom Jehovah has graciously given." Joanna was the grandson of Zerubbabel, in the lineage of Christ (Luke 3:27); the same as Hananiah (1 Chr. 3:19). Another person named Joanna was the wife of Chuza, the steward of Herod Antipas, tetrarch of Galilee (Luke 8:3). She was one of the women who ministered to our Lord, and to whom he appeared after his resurrection (Luke 8:3; 24:10). Derived from Easton's and Smith's Bible Dictionaries Fair Use.
