Seeking Healing
One of our problems is the wounding we endure as we walk down the road of life.
However, we can find healing. To find healing we must find God. In the Old Testament, Job
was a man searching for God and for God's healing power. Job 23:3 If only I knew where to
find him; if only I could go to his Dwelling! (NIV) Today, many people are living from one
crises to another. Living from one crisis to another is no way to live life. For some
people, living from crisis to crisis is a way of life. Some people walk into walls,
seemingly on purpose. A crisis for some people gives them a reason to live. Many people
are susceptible to living in a crisis because they need a crisis to live. Matthew 6:33 But
seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as
well. (NIV) Jesus said we are supposed to seek out his kingdom and his righteousness. We
are not supposed to sit back and wait for life to bring the next crisis along. We are not
supposed to sit back and see what happens next. We are not supposed to fear the future. We
are supposed to be aggressive and seek the future out. Do not let life come at you. Go to
life before life comes to you. Like Job, you must seek for God, inside yourself. Always
try to do the right thing. Seek out the right way to live and love, and care for other
people. Seek first His kingdom. We seek after many things before we ever get to Jesus. We
seek a new car, house, money, good health, a way to get rid of problems, anything, and
everything…except Jesus. Sometimes we get everything reversed. We want the result
first without our creating a condition or a cause. In 1950, 10% of all income went to
luxuries. In 1980, 30% of all income went to luxuries. God created us and put in us a
seeking heart. God placed us upon the earth to do His will and to seek Him out. This is
one of the basic purposes of life…to seek out God.
